Miriam Cisternas, MA has managed and analyzed health-related data since 1991. Miriam has worked in a number of therapeutic areas including chronic musculoskeletal diseases, asthma, and women's health. Miriam has extensive experience analyzing medical and pharmacy claims databases, public use surveys, and observational panel data to answer questions relating to cost-of-illness and patient treatment. Many of the studies Miriam designed using these data sources have been published in peer-reviewed journals. Her clients have included universities, pharmaceutical companies, and government agencies.

Previously, Miriam was a Senior Research Manager at Ovation Research Group and a Senior Statistical Analyst at Technology Assessment Group in San Francisco. Prior to that, she served as Senior Statistician at the University of California at San Francisco, and Research Analyst at the University of California, Los Angeles. Miriam earned her BA from the University of Minnesota, summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, and MA from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Miriam has served on the International Society of Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research's Retrospective Database Special Interest Group and conference chair for the Western Users of SAS Software Conference. She is also been a member of the executive committees of both the Western Users of SAS Software, Inc., as well as the San Diego SAS Users' Group.
