Web Projects
  1. Institute for Health Policy Studies, UCSF: Build a web application for the Institute for Health Policy Studies at UCSF using Apache Web Server, Oracle, and JServ Servlet container. The web application serves to collect and disseminate information among the Institute's faculty and fellows. The application also updates the contents of the Institute's public web site. Design and build the Institute's public web site using the same technology. The public web site uses the parts of the Institute's database that are in the public domain to disseminate dynamic content.


  2. ARAMIS website, Department of Immunology and Rheumatology, Stanford University. In conjunction with strategic partner Gunnar Swanson, MGC Data Services designed and developed informational website for the Arthritis, Rheumatism, and Aging Medical Information System.


  3. C. Everett Koop National Award Winners: 2000. In conjuction with strategic partner Gunnar Swanson, designed and developed web pages displaying information for the award winners for the 2000 awards.


  4. GlobalSight Corp. Architected and developed a web presentation framework based on JSPs and servlets using XML technology.
Data Management And Analysis
  1. Cost of Illness Studies. Refined analysis plans, executed analyses, and coauthored peer-reviewed papers on direct and indirect costs of various musculoskeletal and pulmonary chronic diseases.


  2. Risk Assessment/Risk Adjustment. Developed and implemented analysis plans for projects to evaluate risk-adjustment alternatives for structuring health provider payments. Implementation required restructuring and analysis of several years of data from private insurance claims databases.
Biotech and Pharmaceutical Informatics
  1. Applied Biosystems: Developed a LIMS system for Gene Expression labs. Architected and developed a 4-tier client-server LIMS system including desktop and wireless client applications. Designed relational database that allows the encoding of any arbitrary workflow made up of individual tasks.


  2. Specimen tracking. In conjunction with strategic Partner Hanham Consulting developed a database system to track and reconcile sample records from a number of sources (CRO LIMs, labs, and pharmaceutical clinical sponsor) for several international clinical trials over several seasons.


  3. Audit support. Provided ad-hoc programming to support data audit for clinical trials from strategic Partner Hanham Consulting.
